KMG Foods, a Maine-based LLC, produces the first full seasoning mix for the humble French Canadian meat pie, tourtière. In Maine, this beloved meat pie goes by many names. Some call it pork pie, or meat pie, and those with a Franco-American background have many different pronunciations, but the one we grew up with was "tukkay". Now, with only 25 minutes of prep, the home cook can have a homemade tourtière ready for the oven. Just brown your favorite ground meats (we grew up with a pork and beef combo) or meat alternatives, add the full contents of our pouch, fill a pie crust and voila! Our pouch contains potatoes, onions, spices, and kosher salt--just add your filling. We are gluten-free, non-GMO, vegan-friendly, and dairy-free. We know how many people love this pie during the holidays but recognize not as many people make it at home anymore because they don't have time or aren't familiar with how.
