Sugarloaf is the largest ski area in the east located in Carrabassett Valley, Maine. Sugarloaf is the only mountain in the east with above tree line skiing, offering powder-filled snowfields off the back side of the mountain. The trail map displays Bracket Basin, which offers over 650 acres of backcountry-style glades, including steeps, chutes, and cliffs, all comprising one of the most unique skiing adventures on the East Coast. Being Maine’s highest skiable peak at elevation of 4,237 with 57 miles of trails, 163 trails and glades, Sugarloaf holds a special place in our hearts.
